Performing Arts Move.jpg

West College Scotland is moving its award-winning Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) from New Street in the town centre back to its main Paisley campus on Renfrew Road.

Every year, more than 400 of the College’s Acting, Technical Theatre, Dance, Music and Sound Production students are taught at the YMCA building just off the High Street. They will now relocate to a new facility within the main campus.

This will be located at the Inchinnan building, with the College developing a creative hub, providing students and staff with a modern teaching and learning environment. College management expects the move - which is being financed through Scottish Funding Council maintenance funds - to be completed by the end of 2019.

Angela Pignatelli, West College Scotland’s Assistant Principal for Creative Industries, said:

“This is a really exciting development for West College Scotland.  I am delighted we are able to bring our Performing Arts students onto the same campus as the rest of the student body. It will be great to get them back where they belong – right at the heart of West College Scotland.

“This move will enhance learning and teaching and make the students’ time with us even more enjoyable.  It also means they will be able to access the full range of College support services more easily.

“I am sure the presence of Performing Arts students at Renfrew Road will enhance the student experience for all learners at the Paisley campus.”
