Visiting Denmark’s capital, the students enjoyed a jam-packed itinerary visiting some of Copenhagen’s top museums and attractions.

Accompanying the students was Lecturer, Lola Paterson, “The trip to Copenhagen was a great opportunity for the students to visit one of Europe’s design capitals and a chance to learn more about the Scandinavian design and Danish culture Hygge.”

A successful trip on many levels developing and inspiring students, Lola continued, “Apart from the educational benefits, for some this was their first trip abroad, which I think they all agreed was a fantastic opportunity allowing them to experience different cultures and new life experiences as well as being able to engage with students from different classes.”

A great finale to a year of hard work the students have returned with a fresh outlook on design, inspired for their return for the new academic year come August.

28 year old NC Interior Architecture student, Scott Rhodes, commented, “I was bit apprehensive about going on a trip with people that I didn’t know, but in the end I really enjoyed it, the people were great and I loved experiencing the museums and stunning architecture.

This trip has given me a new burst of energy and has inspired and cemented that I want to return for the 2nd year of the course.

'It was the people that made this trip. Thanks to all the lecturer for a great time and I hope that next year we will have the same opportunity.”

Having experienced many student trips abroad, Curriculum and Quality Leader, Billy Kinnear was thrilled to be part of yet another success one which he believes will motivate and encourage students, “Copenhagen has been a complete and utter success and one that I will remember and share for the rest of my life. The site and museums were inspirational and such a joy to experience, in particular the design museum.

‘The day trip to Malmo, Sweden was a very special day and for me took the whole trip to another level.

The staff and students couldn’t have been better – it was a joy to share these experiences with each and every one of them.
