Course Overview

Course Aims

Our Domestic Gas Foundation course is designed for ACS Category 2 and 3 candidates wanting to enter the gas industry.

Benefits of Attending

On completion of the training, portfolio and successful recommendation, candidates are issued with a BPEC Gas Foundation certificate.
Upon receipt of the Gas Foundation certificate candidates can then apply to undertake the relevant ACS assessments and become qualified gas engineers.

Also included on successful completion of the qualification is the CCN1 training and assessment plus up to 3 appliances. Allows candidates to apply for Gas Safe registration as a competent person.

  • Gas safety legislation
  • Installing and fitting of pipework
  • Identifying unsafe practices
  • Chimney standards, ventilation and testing
  • Fan assisted flue assembly installation
  • Combustion
  • Emergency Isolation Controls
  • Emergency procedures relating to gas
  • Use and setting of regulators
  • Re-establishing a gas supply / relight procedures   

 

Entry Requirements

Category 3 applicants are new to the gas industry and will need more intense training. No previous experience is required.

Course Duration

This course will be delivered through blended learning, combining online face-to-face learning with a practical assessment at the end of the 6 months.

This course requires a minimum of 11 participants to run. If this number isn’t reached then you will be contacted to offer you the next available date
