This PDA is recommended by SSSC for supervisors for re-registration purposes. Candidates will gain the knowledge and opportunity to reflect on the role of supervisor in a care setting. The course will cover relevant theories, role and responsibilities, promotion of staff CPD, legal duties and promotion of safe effective care practice via supervision. 

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be in a supervisory role in care employment to be able to undertake this qualification. This PDA is at SCQF level 7 so candidates must be able to write academically and carry out individual reading and research. There will be tutorial support sessions available. 

 

 

Format

Part-time course totalling 36-hour tutorial support and self-study /independent learning also required (approx. 36 hours self-study) including:

  • two academic units
  • 12 tutorial sessions over 12 or 18 weeks
  • Individual self-study online is also learning included in this course
  • formal written assignments

Bespoke delivery of the course can be provided for organisations with sufficient staff.
