A live project for our Interior Design students

For the third year in a row, our Interior Design Department has been working together with Neat Livinga Glasgow-based company providing customisable, transformable and affordable housing solutions.

Our collaboration with Neat Living falls with our HND Interior Architecture and Design class Live Client Brief project, where students get the opportunity to apply the skills they’ve acquired in College to meet real-world business needs.

This year's project aimed at generating micro living design solutions for Neat Living's recently released new 'micro 40 home'.

Under the expert guidance of their college lecturer, Lola Paterson, the class has worked hard to produce innovative design concepts meeting the needs and ambition of Neat Lving's homes. Students looked at different ways in which they could design an interior solution for different customers, in either a rural or urban setting.

Students have now delivered their finished work, which we reveal today. You can check out the work of our talented designers of the future on Neat Living’s Facebook page. Make sure your like and share your favourite design!

Winners of the live project will be announced on the 27 January 2017 during an awards ceremony hosted by Neat Living at the citizen M hotel. For this year’s judging, the Company has invited back some of our former and very talented Interior Design Students, including Mhairi Urquhart, Danielle Stewart, Chantal Mitchell, Stephanie Clements, Teri McLoughlin and Andrew McCaughran to identify the shortlist and winners.

Ahead of the event, Colin Taylor Director and Founder of Neat Living said,

We’re delighted to be holding this event and we’re particularly pleased to give these young designers a time and place to show off their ideas and designs - and it is great to have the former WCS guys coming back to help with judging and making this such a special occasion.

Cast your vote for your favourite design

You can joint in too and judge for yourself by liking and sharing your favourite on Neat Living’s Facebook page. The most liked and shared designer will be awarded a wildcard prize at the awards ceremony: a voucher for Glasgow’s Cass Art store.
