What will I learn?

Students will study a range of subjects relevant to career paths in health science.

In addition to developing practical laboratory skills, the course includes maths and communication as well as help in preparing candidates for entry to Higher Education.

What qualifications do I need?

Aimed at those returning to education, typically after an absence of at least 3 years, this course requires no previous qualifications. Entry to the programme is subject to interview where applicants can discuss the course content in more depth as well as possible progression routes. You will also be asked to provide a reference as well as to sit an entry test to establish your levels of literacy and numeracy.

What can I do after?

Successful students can progress to Higher Education (degree or HNC/D) in a variety of areas of health science including pharmacology, physiology, biomedical science and physiotherapy. In addition the course also allows entry to a range of science degrees. Examples include microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, chemistry, applied bioscience and forensic science.
