Introductory Course - Introduction to Economics

What will I learn?
This is an entry level course to introduce candidates to economic concepts. This course is designed to enable the candidate to develop an understanding of basic issues in economics with a particular emphasis on the business environment. The course includes the following topics.
- Factors of production
- The concepts of scarcity, choice and opportunity cost
- The basic economic concepts of supply and demand
- The circular flow of income
- Taxation and government spending
- Foreign trade
- National income and the economy
- The operation of efficient markets
What qualifications do I need?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, as it is delivered online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.
This course does not require a personal statement.
What can I do after?
This course provides progression to the NCFE Certificate in Business Administration. It is also a good starting point for those individuals who are interested in entering a career in business and marketing.
