What will I learn?
This is an entry level course to introduce candidates to infection control in a care setting. This course is designed to introduce candidates to the causes and routes of transmission of infection and identify a range of preventative measures.. The course includes the following topics:.
- The risks from infection
- Personal hygiene
- Personal protective equipment
- Food handling
- Cleaning through disinfection and sterilisation
- Types of waste and their safe disposal
What qualifications do I need?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, as it is delivered online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.
This course does not require a personal statement.
What can I do after?This course provides progression to an NCFE Certificate in the Principles in the Prevention and Control of Infection in a Health Care Setting. It is also a good starting point for those individuals who are interested in a career in health and social care.
