Course overview

What will I learn?

Subjects will include:

  • Supporting the Behaviour of Children and Young People
  • Supporting Children and Young People in an Educational Setting
  • Professional Practice in an Educational Setting
  • Students will attend a placement 1 day per week

What qualifications do I need?

Applicants must have 4 National 5s at A-C including English. They must also provide 2 appropriate references and attend a selection interview, where they can show their genuine interest in working with children and young people.

All applicants must be eligible to join the PVG Scheme. There are no academic entry requirements for mature students, although the other criteria will still apply.

What can I do after?

Successful completion of this course can enable progression onto courses in Health and Social Care and/ or Childhood Practice or it may lead to employment in the sector.

All students must become a PVG scheme member.
